Shirley Dill - Director

Shirley Dill has been teaching dancing for the last 60 years. She began her dance studies with Hazel Bergh at Sioux City Music and Dance School and went on to study with Edna McCrae and Ruth Paige in Chicago. She was a theater major at the University of South Dakota.

Shirley founded Sioux City’s first drill team and is Co-artistic Director of the Siouxland Civic Dance Association, which she and her husband, Terry Dill, co-founded.

Tracy Bennett - Co-director

Tracy Bennett, co-director of Siouxland Movement Arts Center, is coordinator for Morningside College’s dance program, which has offered a dance minor since 2003 and will offer  a major beginning this year.

Tracy has taught in the Sioux City public schools and has served as a choreographer for area theaters and dance studios. She has a degree in speech and drama education from Morningside College and has more than 30 years of experience in theatrical dance with an emphasis on classical forms. She studied two years with the National Academy of Dance at the School of Performing Arts in Champaign, Illinois.

Jennifer Byrne - Instructor

Jennifer Byrne has studied with Gus Giordano in Chicago and with Stan Picus in Denver as well as at the National Academy of Dance in Champaign. She both choreographed and appeared in numerous poductions and was formerly on the faculty of the Morningside College dance program. Jennifer has taught at Siouxland Movement Arts Center and in her own dance studio for more than 25 years.
